My Story and Review of treatment at Dentzz Dental Clinic (Delhi, Mumbai and Dubai)

I have faced dental issues all my life. I remember going to the dentist since my school days, I had so many cavities and fillings done, many minor treatments to correct the state of my teeth. I had to avoid eating so many things due to this issue. As I grew up the situation started getting worse. Almost 1/4^th of my jaw was treated, I had gotten 4 crowns and multiple root canal treatments, after which my teeth were finally in a position to bite. 

Just 7 months back, the state of my teeth started deteriorating, my previous crowns chipped off and teeth were sensitive again. All in all, I had a dental crisis. I got it checked by my dentist here in Canada, he examined everything and told me that I needed to get rid of the previous crowns and get new ones. The quote that he gave me was quite expensive, which I honestly did not expect, as he is my regular dentist. So, I dropped the plan to get my treatment done by him. 

I decided to search for more affordable options and better dental clinics… went through many websites and reviews. I shortlisted a couple of clinics and visited them, but I received more or less the same quote which wasn’t worth considering. Just a few days later, I had a talk with my cousin in India, as she is a dental student, I told her about the issues I was facing. She recommended that I must check Dentzz Dental as they specialize in cosmetic dentistry and are well known India. Apparently they rank no1 according to a Times Survey in dentistry which was something that totally swayed me.

I thought of checking their website, I went through the Dentzz reviews at http://www.guiltybytes.com/2016/09/my-visit-and-review-of-dentzz-dental.html  and http://www.letsexpresso.com/fashion/dentzz-dental-clinic-review/  which seemed to be good. The only issue was that they were situated in India (Dentzz Dental Mumbai & Dentzz Delhi) and Dubai. I planned to call them to find out get certain information. I called Dentzz Dental, Mumbai (Kemps Corner, Whitehall) Branch to know about their price for dental implants. The receptionist there took the extra time to explain each and everything considering that I cannot visit them for detailed information and consultation. She connected me to Dr. Aakanksha Chandak so that I get a better understanding of what would be my dental treatment procedure and the number of sessions. The doctor at Dentzz was really nice and courteous to speak to me for almost an hour to understand my situation, he asked me to mail him my reports. After the conversation with the doctor, she stated that I would need dental implants for sure and that he would treat gum recession as well. After the conversation, the receptionist quoted the price for the total treatment, and I actually found it much more reasonable compared to the dentists here in Canada.

I am an Indian living in Canada, I shifted here a few years ago with my husband. We visit home once every year and since our trip to India was due, we decided to visit Dentzz Dental in Mumbai as my situation had not gotten any better in the past 3 months. We took an appointment with them for 2 months later, booked the cheapest flight to India and managed our office work and leaves in the meanwhile.

In those 2 months, I had frequent calls with the dentist as I had to take certain precautions before we started the treatment, the doctor was helpful and went that extra mile to guide me before I came to the country. I had to complete certain formalities and send scanned documents which I did, and the receptionist made sure to manage all the paperwork there.  2 months later, the time had arrived and we landed India. 

Starting from scratch, I'd like to express what my experience has been like with them from the beginning to the end. 
The day we reached Mumbai, we were given a call to know if we had landed safely. I had my appointment 2 days later for which they called and confirmed once again, provided me with the address of their Dentzz Kemps Corner clinic, as we were staying in Mahalaxmi at my parent’s place, and Kemps Corner was the closest.

We visited the Dentzz Kemps Corner clinic and met with the receptionist, she was sweet indeed in person as she was on the phone. The staff offered water, tea and coffee. The ambience of the clinic itself gave me a positive vibe and took away a bit of my nervousness. The clinic was very clean and had a pleasant smell too.

Dr. Aakanksha Chandak finally saw me, she understood my dental history once again in person, in order to know the treatments that can be carried out and that cannot be done.  She sat with me and my husband for around 45 minutes, she then examined my teeth and informed me in addition to the dental issues I already have, I had decayed a tooth, which needed to be taken out and one of them needed root canal before I could get dental implants. Hearing all this, I actually got scared but the dentists from Dentzz Kemps Corner explained the procedure in detail and step by step sessions, which calmed me down. Dr. Aakanksha Chandak was highly professional and at the same time welcoming. She made us feel at ease and comfortable. 

After a lot of discussion, we decided to get a total of 5 crowns, 4 which I already had to and an additional one because of my decayed tooth, which needed cleaning and a root canal treatment.

In my first sitting, the doctor took my X-ray and did few other tests to decide how we would be going about the treatment. The doctor treated the decayed part and started with the root canal treatment. After she removed and treated the damaged portions of the teeth, she numbed the area with local anesthesia to shape the chewing surface to accommodate an implant.  She took an impression of two of my teeth for the crowns. She fitted temporary crowns, they helped me sense how my permanent restoration would feel like. She suggested to avoid sticky and crunchy food as it was difficult to chew.

In the second and third sitting, the doctor worked on the other 3 crowns, carried out the same procedure, fit temporary crowns. She had finalized on fitting all the permanent crowns in the fourth sitting.

In the meanwhile, over the course of all my sittings I had made a good friend at the clinic. Her name was Paula, and she was here with her husband and they had come all the way from Perth. He was in need of a full mouth reconstruction and they would be staying in India for a few weeks at least. Apparently she didn’t seem to mind it though because she would joke that it was a dental honeymoon for her. Would you believe, she had come to Dentzz two years ago for some veneers and doctor had done such a good job that she could not stop praising them. This year when her docs back home had suggested some bizarre insane cost for her husband’s dental treatment, she didn’t think twice, just called Dentzz and in a few weeks she was here! Meeting and chatting with Paula really helped me over the course of my treatment, her faith in doctor reassured me only and she was good fun to hang out with before my sessions. People like her show just how good Dentzz is and how their service is simply top notch.

So in a few days, I again visited the Dentzz Kemps Corner clinic for my last session, the doctor was energetic and smiling as always, she totally boosted my confidence as I was really nervous thinking how this would turn out to be. She took out my temporary restorations, and placed the permanent ceramic crowns and they fit perfectly well in the gums. She buffed and polished them and checked if my bite was correct. The sessions were long and I could only hope for it to work out well. After the doctor got done with the finishing, he handed over the mirror to me.

It took a lot to lift up the mirror and look at myself after the treatment, as I have faced a really bad experience in past with my previous dentist.

When I saw myself, I was emotional. I was so happy! The colour of the crown matched my natural teeth colour. It didn’t seem like I had artificial fittings. This was the happiest moment I had in the record of past 7-8 months. She told me that I could eat everything now.

The doctor had called me for one last appointment to check the crowns and the fittings. She saw me after a week, and I literally broke down. It was an emotional moment, I had the first piece of cake after I don’t even remember how many months. I had food that I couldn’t for so long. I was smiling all along and just couldn’t stop. I was just thankful for everything Dr. Aakanksha Chandak had done for me.

All throughout my time here, doctor and the Dentzz Dental staff took utmost care of my stay and comfort. I didn’t face an issue even once.

I am so happy that I visited Dentzz Dental Clinic, they lived up to what they promised. I was quoted the best price. I wasn’t overcharged, in fact I paid quarter of what I would have paid in Canada.

A week later I faced a little problem with the crown while eating, I called the doctor, and she gave me an appointment for the next day itself. She fixed the issue and gave me some meds in case I experience pain. I was surprised and happy to see the instant solution to my problem. It has been 4 months now, and I haven’t faced any difficulty after my treatment with them. I am back to Canada, and I still call my doctor if I have any query.

To be honest I had an unparalleled experience, Dentzz Dental changed my life, and brought me my smile back.
